Pumpkin Pop Art

Here is a Che Guevara version of a picture I took of my cat a while back.

You can almost hear him say: "Mao!"

To make this picture, I adapted instructions found in a You Tube instructional video on using Gimp to turn a photograph into pop art. The main change I had to make from the video's instructions was to remove all the background as my cat has light collored fur; his fur didn't work out so well even with a fairly light background... So after removing the background elements, adjusting the color balance and contrast, and removing more background elements, I pretty much followed the video instructions.

Black and White Keys

This months photo club challenge is black and white. My picture is above. Basically, it's exactly how it looks: I took a long exposure of my keyboard while playing said keyboard. Enjoy!

Photo Club Presentation on Publishing

This one is for the photo club. No, it is not a photo... it is a slide presentation that I'm going to present to the photo club. I made it using Google docs. Maybe I'll eventually do a voice over on it. For now, hopefully the brief blurbs and links will be useful. My notes are not ready to publish yet...

Town through plants...

This picture was taken above Ramacca. I took it by pointing my camera out the passenger window and focusing on the plants in front of the lens.

A Road...

This on is at the same location as the last post. The town off in the distance is Ramacca. I think.

Anyway... with the water on the road and the clouds, it kind of reminds me of the image that one of the major US movie production studios puts at the beginning of the flicks they produce.

Shades of Blue

So, I've fallen a bit behind in posting photographs. Today, I set out to correct that fact. These posts (and a couple to follow) are from pictures I took today.

After doing a bit of grocery shopping, I took a bit of a detour on the way home and drove in the general direction of Radusa. Once there, I drove out into the country where I got plenty of mud on the Subaru and was able to take a few photos.

It is a rainy day but the sun was trying to peek through in the picture above. I really like the shades of blue contrasted against the green field. The picture was designed such that the ditch leads the viewer's eye to the sky.

Relaxin', watching TV

So here's my entry for this week.

The photo club has a black and white challenge for next month. I'm not sure this will be what I bring there; it is just a working concept at this point.

Enjoy...
